Recent Photos

Most of the time here you can’t tell where the sky ends and the ocean begins…

Breathtaking land/seascapes….

My camera is a natural illustrator’s dream (it rocks)…

Science Illustration Begins.

Well my first few weeks here at UCSC have been intense. There is no break in between anything, its all go-go-go. But I love it and I am producing some great stuff! Here are a few of the first illustrations I have done:

This is a Conch Shell done in Graphite:

This is my favorite of 5 cocoons I drew with a crow-quill pen & ink. It is made up of parallel lines:

Here is a colored pencil drawing in my sketchbook:

These are some droopy roses, done in graphite, that are in my sketchbook as well:

There is much more to come! It takes me time to scan things in, and I am producing so much that I always have a backlog piling up. So stay tuned….

Marge’s Visit

My best friend Margaret recently visited me here. It was the most fun I have had in a long time. I don’t think we stopped going (or laughing) the whole time. We explored the city and natural parks around and then made a trip up to San Francisco and Sonoma. We saw a bobcat in a eucalyptus grove, biked sea cliffs, made fools of ourselves in the “Mystery Spot” made new friends everywhere, and went to one of the oldest/biggest forests in the world among many other things. Here are my favorite pictures (greatly condensed)…

Monarch

This is what I did in the first 2 weeks I had alone without school. It is a monarch butterfly (made out of book pieces), which coincidentally migrates to a park about 2 miles from my house in huge flocks. I didn’t know that when I started it. Nice coincidence…(?)

My new home

I think the best thing about my new place is the giant deck and giant blackberry bush right outside thats always full of little creatures.

The inside is nice too. =). Needless to say, I love my little home.
