I got a job.

Hooray! I recently got a job freelancing for an educational software company called Comcourse. I am illustrating concepts for solar panel technology- making me a real life science illustrator. This is all thanks to my newly acquired skills in Adobe Illustrator, and most importantly, by going to bars and meeting new people who then give you jobs. (I am a lucky girl) This is unrelated to my work I am doing for them but here is an aloe plant that I drew on the computer and colored for my class that I am pretty pleased with…

New Works in Black and White

This is a coquille illustration of a copperhead snake I found this summer in NC. Coquille is just a bumpy type of paper so it looks like you’ve stippled (made out of dots) when all you have to do is run your pencil over it. This picture will also be featured in the Museum of Natural History of Santa Cruz’s newsletter. It will be the first announcement of the end of the year show for my class.

This is a coquille illustration of a Paper Wasp, looking under the microscope. I have discovered I love drawing bugs.

This snail shell was stippled. Meaning I had to make all those dots the old fashioned way- One by One. This piece took me the longest to do so far. Around 17 hours.
